Holiday Inn Express Burton on Trent Hotel Review
by Peter Forbes
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Burton on Trent for an extended two week period for two weeks due to work reasons. On the upside, assuming g you have stayed in a HI Express before, you know exactly what to expect, a clean and comfortable room with a decent TV and adequate bathroom facilities. On the down side, as with most chain hotel HI Express lacks and real character and can become a little boring on an extended stay.
From a location perspective, the hotel is ideally located for the business traveller, being only a short distance from the main routes and yet still within close enough distance of the town centre to be able to arrange alternative dining arrangements and evening entertainment.
Overall my stay at the Holiday Inn Express was a positive one, although the lack of onsite facilities such as a gym and swimming pool mean that those staying here for an extended period may get a little bored. Additionally the menu for both breakfast and evening meals can be somewhat limited for those staying for more than a couple of nights. However, this is somewhat offset by the local pub which offers a range traditional pub foods and drinks and is within walking distance of the hotel.
All in all, a good budget hotel but if your looking for an extended stay hotel, consider somewhere with more faculties.
