Fernie Castle Hotel: One of Scotlands Most Unusual Hotels
Fernie Castle Hotel located in Cupar Fife is one of the most unusual hotels in Scotland, with easy access to the major cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee its not hard to see why the hotel has become a hit amongst tourists and business travellers alike.
The hotel itself is a 450 year old castle complete with romantic fairytale turrets and all located in 17 acres of prime Scottish woodland.
When staying at the hotel rooms range from the basic no-nonsense “squires and ladies” rooms available at around £95 per person per night on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, through to one of the Monarch Suites available form just £129 per person per night.
The small uplift in price of the Monarch Suites more than makes up for the additional features and “leg room” including four poster beds in some rooms and separate sitting area to relax in.
If the prospect of staying in a castle hotel is not enough then why not consider the hotels very own treehouse hotel. The tree house suite offers a romantic hideaway located amongst the tree tops of six sycamore trees. This is no rustic lodge though, the treehouse suite is fully equipped with the latest entertainment technology, an oversized king-size bed and private bathroom.
If access to the major cities is not enough how about a spot of golf? The hotel has no less than 59 golf courses within a 45 mile radius of the hotel, this includes the Old Course at St Andrews just 13 miles away. The hotel is more than happy to arrange tee off times for guests, although this is not possible for the Old Course.
So if looking for an unusual hotel in Scotland with easy access to the major cities, Fernie Castle Hotel may be just the place to stay.
