Denbies Wine Estate: A Hotel at Britain's Largest Vineyard
Denbies Wine Estate is Britain’s most prolific producer of English wine, for those looking to sample the wares of the vineyard, the wine estate also offers some of the best accommodation in the Southeast.
The Denbies vineyard hotel takes the form of a converted farmhouse on the vineyard itself. The establishment has seven double rooms each of which are fitted with en-suite facilities, wireless internet access and the usual array of tea and coffee making facilities.
Basic packages are provided on a B&B basis with double rooms available from between £98 and £105 per night. Single occupancy options are also available for between £70 and £95 per night.
The packages offered by the hotel however, perhaps represent a better option. For £150 the “Friday night farmhouse special” offers two guests the chance to take a three course dinner and coffee in the Gallery Restaurant before retiring to a double en suite room for the night. Guests also receive a vine grown on the estate as a memento to take away – possibly the most unique of all hotel gifts.
Both the hotel at the vineyard and the restaurant are well rated, the farmhouse has been accredited by the tourist board with a four star rating, as well as receiving numerous other accolades. The Gallery Restaurant with its focus on local sustainable produce has also received numerous awards including the good house keeping food awards 2010.
So if looking for all those who love wine and are looking for a completely different hotel experience in the Surry area, consider booking in at Denbies for the night.
